The Hon.W.Ormsby-Gore, M.P.,

Colonial Office,

Downing Street, S.W.1.

Dear Mr.Ormsby-Gore,

23rd

Oct.

1923.

Very many thanks for your letter of October 20th.

Unfortunately, the telephone message I received from your Secretary the day the Committee met was to the effect that the Report must be regarded as strictly confidential. I did not, therefore, feel at liberty to do as you have now kindly suggested I might, that is, to put the special points arising out of it to the members of the Committee.

I am, therefore, arranging to secure the presence of the Chairman and the two members of the Committee who would be most useful for this particular purpose, to meet here and go through these special points. After we have had this consultation I will forward our comments to you. Under the circumstances I will delay despatching you the personal letter I had prepared, until after this meeting.

I have received a very interesting letter from the Bishop of Hong Kong and understand from him that Sir Claude Severn is still over here and also that the new Medical Officer has been appointed but has not yet arrived at Hong Kong. If he is still in England it might be rather helpful for us to meet him before he takes up his appointment.

With very many thanks for your help,

Yours very truly,

Brusille. Kolls.

General Secretary.
